Is there any mercy for new players that get their first mining barge? I'm planning on a retriever in a week or so.

Surely anyone that daren't leave high sec is going to earn nothing so doesn't really effect you and should these losers be punished for spending 6 weeks mining to buy a hulk. Then getting them fried. Fine taking anyone in low sec or 0.0 since that's why they're there but come on, why shouldn't you take on someone your own size.
I have to admit, if it's people bot mining, I hope they all get the crap blown out of them. However it's the little guys in the little ships (like me!) that I think should be left out of it. If you can one-shot them and leave before the Concord even goes into warp, they're probably too small to be the problem.

Wait... you're not allowed to get away even if you can? I don't understand that part.

While I'm sure some people do it with the motivation of killing macro's, almost everyone who participates in Hulkageddon does if for the lulz and prizes, but primarily the lulz. They really won't care if it's a macro or not, many probly hope it isn't so they can get the tears
Hmm... maybe next year for me.

You are allowed to try and get away before the space police reduces your spaceship to junk as long as you stick to valid game mechanics, darling. It is not uncommon to be warping from celestial to celestial, out pacing the space rozzers for several minutes. Not really sure why that is. Space donuts, probably. They will get you, eventually.
Ah, so simply leaving the system or getting to a base isn't good enough... they keep after you?
Crap on a stick.
Brings up the ultimate question... anyone ever kill a Concord?
